Are you claiming what you're entitled to?
Child Benefit is for people bringing up children, to help with all the costs related to this. It is paid for every child (or young person until their 20th birthday as long as they are in full-time education, which they started before they were 19 years old) regardless of your income or savings.
Child Benefit payments are £18.10 per week for the eldest child and £12.10 per week for other children.
If you have not claimed Child Benefit you can request a claim pack from HM Revenue and Customs on 0845 302 1444 or you can download a form from www.hmrc.gov.uk/childbenefit.
